pacuan kuda tradisiona Bima
Hari ini, tanggal 15 Desember 2012 pada pukul 11.00 wita, pacuan kuda tradisional Bima dibuka secara resmi untuk menyambut HUT Nusa Tenggara Barat ke-54. Event yang diadakan di arena pacuan kuda Desa Panda, Kecamatan Palibelo, Kabupaten Bima ini merupakan event yang dilaksanakan setiap 4 kali dalam setahun dan saat ini adalah event yang ke-4 sebagai penghujung di tahun 2012 ini. 
Pacuan kuda tradisional Bima merupakan event tahunan Pemerintah Kabupaten Bima melalui Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata yang bekerjasama dengan PORDASI Kabupaten Bima.
Tahun ini sekitar 800 kuda akan berlaga di arena dalam kurun waktu 2 minggu kedepan. Pacuan kuda tradisional Bima merupakan tontonan yang sangat unik dan menarik karena jokinya tidak seperti joki-joki di daerah lain yang umumnya orang dewasa, akan tetapi joki pada pacuan kuda tradisional bima adalah anak-anak dengan kisaran umur sekitar 7-10 tahun.
Penyelenggaraan event pacuan kuda tradisional ini setiap tahunnya mampu menyedot perhatian dan antusiasme masyarakat dari berbagai kalangan. Bahkan, peserta yang ikut tidak hanya dari Kabupaten Bima akan tetapi juga berasal dari kabupaten-kabupaten lain di sekitar Bima, yaitu: Kota Bima, Kabupaten Dompu, Sumbawa, Lombok bahkan ada peserta dari Sumba, Nusa Tenggara Timur.
Harapannya adalah semoga event ini dapat terlaksana sesuai harapan dan menjadi ajang promosi agar Bima dapat dikenal tidak hanya secara lokal tetapi juga dapat dikenal di kancah nasional maupun internasional.
